Day 59: Porthcothan to Padstow

It is a lot calmer this morning and perfect walking weather. I am back on the path by 7am, as I have a train to catch.

Booby’s Bay.
Trevose Head Lighthouse.
Newtrain Bay with Round Hole in the distance.
Gunver Head.
Stepper Point and The Daymark.
The Daymark.

Rounding Stepper Point, there is the most glorious, glittering view of the River Camel. I join several other hikers and bask in the sun, admiring the bay. I also pay due homage to the Doom Bar sandbank.

It is a gentle stroll into Padstow and very busy, with all the Sunday walkers. I am way ahead of schedule, but the town is too crowded to explore, so I catch an earlier bus to Bodmin Parkway and the train home.

Padstow War Memorial.

Walk distance: 14 miles.

Total distance: 833 miles.
